Despoina Vandi (her real name is Despoina Malea!!) was born on the 22 July 1969, in Tipigen, a small town in Germany near Stuttgart. her parents were emigrants. She is the only one in her family, who didn't learn the German language. She didn't have the time and she was never charmed by German, because she thought it was hard to learn.

Despoina came back to Greece with her family and lived in Kavala (where she was from), when she was six years old. she finishes High School in the beautiful town of Kavala and studied Philology in the University of Salonika. In the second year , while studying she started working with a friend of her, who was playing piano in a piano bar. in the same time she stsrted some lessons, which would help her to make her voice better.

HOW DESPOINA REACHED THE TOP!

Despoina as a student, loved mostly national music. She suddenly found herself singing greek songs in big concerts next to very popular singers.she still listens to national music and she always sings national songs. Her first personal CD "GELA MOU" was realised in 1994. Since then, she has been extremly loved by the audience. At the moment Despoina ia one of the most popular and good looking sigers in Greece. She also has the best voice ever, and anybody can easily realised that through her songs.

WHAT IS DESPOINA DOING NOW?

After the great success of her latest double CD "GEIA", "ANTE GEIA" is now realised. We are absolutely sure that thia CD-SINGLE, which also contains a REMIX of "GEIA", will be equally successful!! The only thing we can wish to Despoina is to be happy in her life and sucessful in her job, although we know that she has already achieved that!!
